Social Media/Public Relations Internship

Overview:

Windhover Center for the Performing Arts seeks an intern that will work closely with Windhover team members to help create, maintain and distribute content that will promote the theatrical, dance and other special events being held at our venue. We are located in beautiful Rockport, MA. This position will mostly be virtual though there will be opportunities to go to events and capture content to use on social media.

We are seeking a student who under the guidance of Windhover team member Jennifer Carey and in collaboration with Noah Stevens can help with the following:

● Create summaries and descriptions for each event

● Create press releases and help distribute them to various media outlets

● Assist with maintaining social media pages: Instagram and Facebook

● Upload content on various organizational platforms to help spread the word on each of the events

● Take pictures at events to be used to further promote events, present and future.

Hours: 10-20 hours/week (flexible), and potentially some evenings and weekends

Responsibilities + Qualifications

● Familiarity with social media sites, particularly Facebook and Instagram

● Graphic design, photography and ideally some illustration skills

● Clear communicator, with high attention to detail in writing and design

● Currently enrolled in a higher education institution

● Interest in theater, dance and music

● Friendly, articulate, and responsible
