From Texas cold calls to national television, Montserrat`s own Persephone Huffman ’26 recently landed a dream gig opportunity as a scenic artist for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

When Percy called production company Gotham Scenic looking for work, the CEO happened to pick up the phone right after receiving a rush order for CBS. Living in Texas at the time, Percy didn`t hesitate; she booked a flight to New Jersey two days later and painted three massive 16` x 20` walls for the show’s "Buc-Off" set in just three days.

Her hustle paid off: she was invited to CBS headquarters in Manhattan for final touch-ups on set, where she worked alongside top industry designers. Percy is now contemplating a move to the NY/NJ area to pursue scenic artistry full-time.
