A welcoming community
with creative opportunities
for all ages.
We love seeing our students expand their creative horizons and build hands-on industry skills. Montserrat Painting student Jake Wanamaker (`27) spent his Fall 2025 semester interning with our neighbors at the North Shore Glass School.
As an intern, Jake wore many hats, balancing customer service and studio maintenance with roles as a teacher and assistant. The experience allowed him to branch out from his painting background to learn fused glass and practice the intricate process of stained glass creation, following projects from initial idea conception to final finishing.
Beyond the technical craft, Jake also gained essential professional skills for his future art career. Reflecting on his growth, he noted that the internship taught him "how to properly display and speak about a gallery piece for sale."
Thank you to the team at North Shore Glass School for partnering with our students and providing a space where they can develop both their artistic craft and business acumen.
