Grounded thoroughly in painting, Matt Saunders‘ work makes porous and provocative relationships with other forms, especially photography, printmaking and installations of animated films. His one-person exhibitions include the Tate (Liverpool), Tank Space (Shanghai) and the St. Louis Art Museum, and his work has been seen in group exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art (NY), Whitney Museum, MassMOCA, and the Drawing Room (London), among many other venerable institutions. Saunders has received numerous prizes, including a Tiffany Foundation grant, the Prix Jean-François Prat, and the 2015 deCordova Rappaport prize. Currently, he Assistant Professor of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University.
