Alumnus Bradford Rusick Curates Garden to City

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Alumnus Bradford Rusick ’08 has curated Garden to City: An Exhibition, which was drawn together by Rusick, Harbor of Hope and Amirah to unify a surreal style and a brilliance of color!

Opening: Saturday, April 28, 4 – 6 pm
Harbor of Hope Church
68 Princeton St. North Chelmsford, MA

Artists and social activists have teamed up to explore what it means to be human, and to restore hope to survivors of human trafficking in Boston. It’s an art show with a mission–come be a part of it!

SWAY, featuring Montserrat Admissions Counselor and alumna Lillian Harden ‘08 and Catie-Rae ’08 will be performing!

We all have different experiences and investigate the world in different ways,” said Rusick. “Some of the things we experience are hard and sad. Even in the midst of that I want people to be able to answer the questions ‘what is health?’ and ‘what is beauty?’, and to be able to see these things from other people’s perspectives.” Considering the delicacy and intricacy of these art pieces while thinking about the journey that every person takes through life is what Rusick hopes will inspire people to consider their own lives and then, in turn, to see the lives of the people around them with compassion. The show will provide viewers the opportunity to learn more about Amirah, and donate their time, gifts or money to help the cause.

The exhibit features artists Bill Dunlap, Lauren Coulson, Ric Haynes, Katherine Romero and Jenn Houle.

Amirah is a Boston non-profit working to build a safe-house that provides whole-person care to women who have come out of human trafficking. It is one out of only a handful that exist in the States today.
