Claudia Valenti

Claudia Valenti is a multidisciplinary artist and educator. Her paintings, drawings, prints, ceramic sculpture, and book works process memory, trauma, and identity through folkloric imagery and magical realism. Selected exhibitions include Trestle Gallery (New York), Amos Eno Gallery (New York), Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (Philadelphia), The Crane Estate (Ipswich, MA), the Cultural Center of Rosa Venerini (Viterbo, IT), and others. Valenti’s work and research have earned grants from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the Fine Arts Venture Fund, a residency fellowship with the San Juan Preservation Trust in the San Juan Islands, WA, and most recently, a residency in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.

As a staff member, Valenti serves as the Student Academic Advisor, advising all incoming students and running the Academic Advising section of The Advising Office. As faculty, Valenti is an Adjunct Professor in the Printmaking department. In addition to printmaking, Valenti also teaches painting, drawing, interdisciplinary arts, curatorial studies, and narrative image-making.
