Bridge Program

Heading to college for the first time can be scary as well as exciting. The Bridge Program at Montserrat is a summer opportunity open to all new students who want to get a headstart on learning how college works and how to succeed as a student and an artist. The Bridge Program is a 2.5-week live-in program during which students will engage in artmaking, connecting with faculty and staff, and academic programming that focuses on making, writing, critical thinking, time and budget management, and study skills. Bridge students work in our studios and labs and go on field trips that explore Beverly, the North Shore, and the Greater Boston area and visit prominent galleries, museums, and creative spaces related to their artistic and career interests. The Bridge Program is 100% free for all participants, and Bridge students receive a $1600 credit towards either an internship or an international travel program later in their time at Montserrat.

Deadline for Application to Bridge

The priority deadline for the Summer 2025 Bridge Program is Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Make sure to get your application in before then! If you enroll and apply for Bridge after this date, your application will still be considered as long as there are still available spots in the program.

How Applicants are Chosen for Bridge

All incoming students who are entering their First Year and the Foundation program are welcome to apply and will be considered for Bridge. Priority will be given to those who complete the Bridge Application form before July 1, 2025, as well as to first-generation students (students who are the first in their families to attend college, an art college, or other similar experience) and students who most eloquently demonstrate through their responses to the Bridge Application their interest in the program, why they hope to attend Bridge, and what they hope to achieve by being a Bridge participant.
