Our labs are designed for high-end creative production, offering a professional environment for digital painting, video editing, and design.

  • Workstations: All labs are outfitted with current-generation iMacs optimized for the latest creative suites.
  • Peripherals: Access a wide range of industry-standard tools, including Wacom drawing tablets and specialized input devices.
  • Seamless Access: Every student has a personal account on our Student File Server. This means your projects are available to you from any lab on campus—no more worrying about where you left your files.

How do I reset my password?

You can login to office.com and go to settings -> Change Password or directly to this URL

Here you’ll be able to change your password, reset your password if forgotten, or unlock your account.

If you need further assistance, we’d like to invite you to give us a call at x1888 or come see us at CTS.

How do I connect to WiFi & what is supported?

Find the “Montserrat College of Art” wireless network and connect to it.

You will be prompted to authenticate with your Montserrat network account username and password.

Once authenticated, you’ll be asked to trust a certificate – please do so.

  • Mac OS X 10.8.5 +

  • Linux that is not end of life

What laptop and/or peripherals should I get?

All Montserrat students are required to arrive on campus with a laptop that meets their curriculum requirements and an external hard drive for transferring and backing up work. We have outlined the basic requirements for a laptop below, along with some model recommendations if you will be purchasing a new computer. Models listed below
are suggestions, any laptop that meets hardware requirements will suffice.

Meeting the minimum requirements is essential to a successful educational experience – increasing the
specifications beyond the minimum required can prove helpful over the course of the program, especially for students that have an interest in digital concentrations and may need a high-performance computer as their work progresses over the years.

Laptops enable anytime, anywhere learning. Montserrat College of Art has complete wireless coverage in all the residences and academic buildings, allowing you to connect to the Internet from various locations. Bring your laptop to class, access your Canvas class sites and bring your computer home over break to keep up with friends and get a head start on next semester’s classes. When you want help with your recommended laptop, it’s easy to bring it to the Center for Technology Solutions for support.

How do I get Adobe CC or Microsoft Office?

The Adobe Creative Cloud & Microsoft Office subscriptions are available to all students for the duration of their time at Montserrat.

The Adobe and Microsoft programs must be removed from your personal computer after you graduate or no longer attend Montserrat.
