Do you love stories? Do you have ideas that you want to share with the world?

Montserrat’s Writing and Visual Narratives concentration is for you—the storytellers, the creatives who have a vision and want to develop the tools they need to execute it. Blend the visual and the literary in this new concentration, which explores the many ways that images and art can be combined with words, characters, and worlds.

Self-directed and self-driven, Writing and Visual Narratives concentrators take the Elements of the Story course as an introduction to narrative structure and possibilities. From there, each creator forges their distinct creative path. Graphic novels? Comics? Scripted animated dramas? Video podcasts? If you want to write it and make it, you can do it. We’ll help. In your third year, you’ll take Narrative Workshop—a chance to employ your craft to write and build your own story. From there, you’ll select the capstone experience that’s right for you and your goals. After that? The world is waiting for your story.
