Meagan Rennie
Academic Access Studio Coordinator
“I believe a classroom should be a supportive, engaging, and compassionate space to explore, collaborate, and question ideas in an expansive and respectful way.” Meagan Rennie has worked in education for 22 years ranging from preschool to higher education. She has a passion for disability advocacy and inclusion of all identities in and outside of a classroom, which began at her first teaching job at a Reggio Emilia preschool in San Francisco. Since then, Meagan has incorporated the Reggio Emilia practices of inclusion, community, and immersive exploration into all aspects of her career. She is currently the Director of the Academic Access Studio and Liberal Arts faculty member at Montserrat College of Art. Through her writing and collage work, she explores how language and imagery motivates, inhibits, and complicates identity. Her work has been exhibited in various galleries, most recently at the University Art Museum at New Mexico State University in Labor: Motherhood and Art. Meagan is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Disability Studies with the hopes of continuing her research of the Reggio Emilia inclusion model at the doctoral level.
