Hannah O’Neal
Associate Professor
Hannah O’Neal is an animator and motion graphic artist specializing in 2D character animation and animation for games. Hannah is a storyteller who has spent much of her decade-plus professional career working to breathe life into many kinds of stories. The stories she has primarily focused on are in the mission-driven and educational-content spaces. Hannah is interested in story and emotions in her work that create joy and understanding in her audience. She tends to create works that are lighthearted, but still deeply meaningful. At her core, Hannah is a lover of life and is intensely interested in expressing this in her work. She often investigates what makes something feel alive, or what makes something believable and relatable.
Hannah is passionately curious, and she loves nothing more than to discover a new understanding of nature and people, as well as to share her knowledge with others. She has found a natural fit for her curiosity and mentorship by becoming a teacher and mentoring those who also wish to learn more about life, motion, and storytelling. In her free time, Hannah is constantly learning more about nature, science, and technology to further her understanding of the world and its complex systems. She loves to camp, garden, and play games as a means to connect to people and nature, both physical and virtual.
