Paul M. Scott Library
The Heart of the Hardie Building
Located on the first floor of our main campus building, the Paul M. Scott Library is more than a collection of books—it is a vibrant hub for learning, exploration, and community enrichment. Whether you are researching art history, mastering a new game, or borrowing essentials for your apartment, the library is designed to support your academic and personal life.
Our Collection: By Artists, For Artists
Founded in 1979 by one of Montserrat’s original faculty members, the library has grown from a generous personal donation into a specialized resource tailored to the needs of visual creators.
- The Print Archive: Over 11,000 carefully curated art books and 30 periodical subscriptions.
- Digital Research: Access to dozens of online databases for high-level academic research and image sourcing.
- The “Library of Things”: We believe in supporting the whole student. In addition to books, you can borrow:
- The Gaming Lab: Explore interactive narratives and game design.
- Practical Essentials: Everything from professional cookware to household items for your residence.
A Legacy of Support
The library serves as a bridge between your curriculum and your professional needs. We provide a quiet space for focused study, a collaborative environment for project planning, and the resources necessary to deepen your creative practice.
