Title: Teaching Assistant for Games Toys Play 1

Department:  Games Toys and Play
Hours needed each week:  6-8
Expected Duration of Job: Fall 2026

Pay: $15.00 

Summary Statement: Games Toys Play Teaching Assistant M/W 8:20am-11am. Must have previously completed GTP1 and have sewing and fabrication skills. 

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Serve as a secondary teaching instructor in class, must be available Monday and Wednesday 8am-11:30pm during the semester with 5-10 hours of planning before the start of the semester.
  • Work with the faculty with the delivery of the course content and assisting students with assignments as needed.
  • Prepare the instructional space for classes on a weekly basis, making sure the necessary course materials and equipment are prepared, the classroom is organized and set-up for instruction.
  • Clean up classroom space and materials as needed at end of class.
  • Help prepare and manage the course Discord and other course materials.
  • Assist students with learning and troubleshooting process and projects, in particular with sewing and fabrication.
  • Be a resource for students outside of class (peer to peer tutoring style).

Requirements:

  • Uphold a professional and respectful demeanor 
  • Attend at least 2 TA workshops throughout the semester
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, and previously taken GTP 1
