Summer Facilities Crew
Summary Statement:
The Summer Facilities Crew supports the daily operations, upkeep, and improvement of campus buildings and grounds during the summer months, with a particular focus on larger seasonal projects and areas that are secondary during the academic year. Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities and Facilities Staff Members, crew members assist with a range of hands-on work to maintain a safe, functional, and attractive campus environment. Responsibilities primarily include painting, landscaping, moving furniture, cleaning, and supporting maintenance, construction, and campus improvement projects, as well as organizing supplies, tracking inventory, and assisting with data collection as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be available for the full summer employment period (mid-May through the end of August)
- Ability to lift 40 lbs or more and perform physical tasks safely
- Must be able to work outdoors in warm and varying weather conditions
- Must follow all standard safety codes and practices
- Attention to detail and willingness to assist with inventory and data collection
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Additional Information:
- A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required
- Prior experience in facilities, maintenance, landscaping, or a similar role is helpful but not required
- Students must be in good academic, financial, and social standing with the college
- Summer campus housing may be available through the college’s summer housing application process
- All necessary tools and safety equipment will be provided
- Training on equipment use and safety procedures will be conducted before starting work

- Build confidence in practical, hands-on skills such as painting, landscaping, and light construction through active learning and feedback
