Please join us for a public talk with artist Michelle Samour, Professor Emerita at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts University, on Thursday, November 14 from 11am-12pm in Hardie 101. Samour is a multi-media artist whose installations, drawings and handmade paperworks explore humankind’s attempt to harness the natural world through science, technology, and the redefinition of socio-political borders. Samour is visiting Montserrat’s campus in conjunction with Professor Nisa Ari’s art history course on Ecocritical Art and will also be hosting a workshop for students on Tinsel Painting, a folk art whose origins date back to the Renaissance.
