On-Campus Employment Assistant (for first years)

Reports to: Emma Oliver
Status: Hours needed each week: 5; Term: Fall 2025, with possibility of rehiring for spring
Salary range: $15.00/hour
Summary Statement: In the On Campus Employment Assistant position, you will assist the Student Employment Coordinator in ideation and execution of events including set up and break down, learn how to coach students on careers and finding on-campus jobs that fit their experience level, help design and produce materials for Employment Evaluations and National Student Employment week, and promote and represent student employment.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Assist with most aspects of events- set up, break down, ensuring all materials are prepped and ready, ideation and creation.
- Coach students on finding on-campus employment opportunities that fit their interests, levels of prior employment, and connect them to resources!
- Assist students with job application materials in the Career Design Center (this will be trained!)
- Design and produce materials for Employment Evaluations, National Student Employment Week, and other important events where student employees need to feel valued.
- Promote and represent student employment.
- Optional: design and host a reoccurring event for the Career Design Studio that helps students become excited about the space and using the resources available.

- Value on campus employment, and be able to help students realize their skills from classes are applicable to jobs on campus and beyond
- Have an interest in design or event engagement, particularly in creating an event that interests students, intersects with other departments, and relates back to creative employment.
- Have a desire to help students better understand the resources available to them on campus
- Have an excellence in communication and openness to trying new things, and help students understand every job is important
