Michael Kerr: Scripting the Future of Creative Enterprise

In this video titled “Building Arts Professionals” by Radio Entrepreneur, Michael Kerr, Founding Director of Creative Enterprises at Montserrat College of Art, joins host Phil Sharkey of The Hire Authority to discuss the college’s new program to equip students with three years of real world work experience before graduation. 

The video dives into Michael’s work with the Creative Employment Initiative (CEI). This isn’t just a career services program; it’s a bold commitment from Montserrat to ensure our students are job-ready from day one.

Through the CEI, Michael is helping to guarantee that Montserrat students have access to paid, career-focused work while they are still in school. By integrating professional, client-facing work directly into the academic experience, we are flipping the script on what an art education looks like.
