Alumni & Mentor Olivia Boi on Maine Local News
Montserrat alumna Olivia Boi (’13) recently appeared in Maine local news! Watch it here.
Boi was featured on Bangor, Maine news station WABI TV 5 in a segment called “Craft Corner.” The news station highlighted Boi’s small jewelry business, Strong Moon Metals. Per the business’ website:
“Olivia Boi is the owner and creator of Strong Moon Metals. A few years after graduating with her Bachelor of Fine Arts, she took an introduction to smithing class at Metalwerx in Waltham, MA and the rest was history. She started Strong Moon Metals December 2017 and hasn’t looked back ever since. Olivia creates jewelry at her home and metals studio in Maine. Sterling silver, brass, and beautifully cut stones are the bread and butter of her practice.”
This summer, Boi served as a mentor to a freshly-graduated Montserrat student. Pyre Klein, who graduated this past spring with a concentration in Painting, joined Boi in her Maine studio to get hands on experience in silversmithing.
