Tuition & Housing Refund Policy

Fall 2026 Semester

If the submission of a completed Withdrawal Form* occurs during:

Week One: From the first day of class until the end of the Add/Drop period. 08/26/2026 through 09/02/2026:

  • 100% of Tuition, General Fee, and Housing is refunded

Week Two: Up to 7 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 09/03/2026 through 09/09/2026:

  • 80% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded. The General Fee is non-refundable after the Add/Drop period.

Week Three: Up to 14 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 09/10/2026 through 09/16/2026:

  • 60% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded.

Week Four: Up to 21 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 09/17/2026 through 09/23/2026:

  • 40% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded.

Week Five: Up to 28 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 09/24/2026 through 09/30/2026:

  • 20% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded.

After six weeks: 29 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 10/01/2026 forward:

  • 0% of Tuition and Housing is refunded.

Spring 2027 Semester

If the submission of a completed Withdrawal Form* occurs during:

Week One: From the first day of class until the end of the Add/Drop period. 01/20/2027 through 01/27/2027

  • 100% of Tuition, General Fee, and Housing is refunded.

Week Two: Up to 7 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 01/28/2027 through 02/04/2027

  • 80% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded. The General Fee is non-refundable after the Add/Drop period.

Week Three: Up to 14 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 02/05/2027 through 02/11/2027

  • 60% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded.

Week Four: Up to 21 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 02/12/2027 through 02/18/2027

  • 40% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded.

Week Five: Up to 28 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 02/19/2027 through 02/25/2027

  • 20% of Tuition and Housing only is refunded.

After six weeks: 29 days after the end of the Add/Drop period. 02/26/2027 onward.

  • 0% of Tuition and Housing is refunded.

Winter and Summer Sessions (including online courses, when taken for credit; does not apply to the Pre-College or International Travel Programs). A full refund is issued if a student officially withdraws within 24 hours of the end of the first class. After that time, no refunds are issued.

Tuition insurance reimburses students who can’t complete an academic term because of an unforeseen accident, injury, or other covered reason. We strongly encourage all families to read the Tuition and Housing Refund Policy carefully and, if they’re interested, to explore their tuition insurance options. When comparing plans, families should pay close attention to each policy’s premiums, benefits, and exclusions so they can make an informed decision that fits their circumstances. Keep in mind that many plans cover only specific reasons for withdrawal, such as medical ones, and most must be purchased before the first day of classes. Tuition insurance is optional, and any policy is a contract between the purchaser and the insurance provider, not Montserrat College of Art. The College shares this information for reference only, does not endorse any provider, and receives no compensation from any provider. 

Tuition Deposit: Refundable and transferable on or before May 1, 2027.

Housing Deposit (for new and returning students): Non-refundable and non-transferable.
