Expand Your Studies Beyond Montserrat

At Montserrat College of Art, you can enrich your education by taking courses at neighboring institutions or taking courses or internships through our partnership networks.

Local Academic Opportunities (NECCUM)

Want to explore subjects outside of art? As a Montserrat student, you can enroll in 1-2 additional classes each semester at nearby colleges and universities through the Northeast Consortium of Colleges and Universities of Massachusetts (NECCUM). Many of these schools are conveniently located within 5 miles of Montserrat’s campus, allowing you to easily integrate diverse coursework into your curriculum.

National Art School Exchange (AICAD Exchange Program)

Montserrat is a proud member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD), a consortium of 43 leading art colleges across North America. Through the AICAD Exchange Program, Montserrat students can study for one semester at another AICAD institution. This unique opportunity allows you to experience a new environment and different artistic perspectives while remaining enrolled at Montserrat, keeping your residency and financial aid. Intern in Major U.S. Cities & Abroad

Montserrat is proud to partner with ArtBound Initiative to help students break into their creative field through international and stateside internships in major cities, such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, London, Berlin, Melbourne, and Sydney.

More than just an internship program, ABI seeks to:

  • Connect students and recent graduates with creative companies
  • Coordinate all logistics (visa, housing, insurance, and more)
  • Provide access to an international network of alumni

ArtBound’s goal is to help participants experience the city from an insider’s perspective. They provide participants with city guides, organized events based on their interests (artist studio visits, curated gallery tours, theater shows) to help them make the most of their internship experience.
