Montserrat College of Art and Congressman Seth Moulton are proud to announce the winners for this year’s Sixth District Congressional High School Art Competition and Exhibition. This year, more than 100 students from 25 schools across the district submitted their work.
This marks the 32nd year Montserrat has had the privilege of hosting the event. A ceremony recognizing all participants was held on Saturday, March 14th, at Montserrat’s Hardie Building, 23 Essex Street, Beverly, from 3:30-5pm.
The Grand Prize winner this year is Joonho Lee of Billerica Memorial High School. Their winning piece, Passing, will travel to Washington, DC, where it will hang in the Capitol building for one year alongside the winners from other Congressional districts across the country.
The winning works and honorable mentions will be presented with a citation from Congressman Moulton. Additionally, Montserrat will provide the awardees and honorable mentions with scholarship funds to attend the college’s Summer Pre-College Program. The gallery will be open from 10-5 pm Thursday and Friday, March 12 and 13, and from 3:30 – 5 pm on Saturday, March 14.

2026 Congressional Art Show Jurors
Michelle Tolini Finamore, PhD, is a Salem-based curator and museum consultant whose work explores the cultural intersections of fashion, design, and film. She has curated exhibitions for museums including the MFA, Boston and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and her project Shoe Stories: Past, Present, Future opens at Historic New England this spring.
Marci Darling is a filmmaker, performer, educator and best-selling author based in Manchester-by-the-Sea. Her latest project is the award-winning documentary The Nita and Zita Project, which tells the story of two sisters, 1920s burlesque dancers Nita and Zita who lived as outsider artists in New Orleans. You can stream it on Apple TV and Amazon Prime.
Lynne Cooney, PhD, serves as Director of Exhibitions and Galleries at Montserrat College of Art, where she teaches as well. A curator, art historian, and educator, she was previously Artistic Director and chief curator of the Boston University Art Galleries.
