“I am not what I am, I am what I do with my hands…”
—Louise Bourgeois
“As an educator, I strive to follow student driven visions and provide guidance through the process. It is a truly remarkable experience when you can teach others an art process and an honor to hand down those skills to new and aspiring student artists.”
—J. Boisvert
Jen Boisvert is a native North Shore area artist who explores visual interpretations and merges relationships between humans and nature using sculpture as a visual dialogue. She enjoys using the subtractive methods in stone, wood carving, and mixed media. Jen grew up in Beverly and received her B.F.A. concentration in Sculpture at Montserrat College of Art. Jen received her M.Ed. from Plymouth State University. She is an artist member at two local art associations, a recipient of the Mary Arakelian Foundation Award for best work in sculpture, and her artwork has been featured in galleries and exhibitions throughout New England. Jen manages the Sculpture Studio at Montserrat and teaches courses in the sculpture concentration. When she’s not in her studio, Jen enjoys spending time with her family and dogs hiking local trails. Her artwork can be seen here.
