The newest solo venture by alumna Sigrid Olsen (’74) is expanding even further.
Alumna Sigrid Olsen’s decades-long career has been defined by invention and reinvention, all in orbit around her distinctive hand-print style and the resort-inspired clothing it adorned. Her latest label, Beach to Bistro, debuted in 2020. The idea behind the new line has been years in the making; the isolation and simplification of the past few years of her life afforded her the time and space to let her imagination run free. “For Sigrid, Beach to Bistro feels like coming full circle–back to her roots as an artisan entrepreneur, steeped in the serenity of her yoga practice and as always, just a few steps away from her beloved salty sea.”
Now, Beach to Bistro is launching a wholesale division. Whereas previously the resort wear collection was only available online at Beach to Bistro’s website, will soon be showing up in specialty boutiques on both US coasts. The collection, bound to feature the embroidery, colors, and time-honored wood block printing that has defined Olsen’s work, will be available for the Resort/Spring season of 2021/22.
