Lydia Gordon in conversation with Tim Harney. The two Montserrat Faculty members will present a historic context and contemporary contextualization of Hans Hofmann, followed by an open discussion about the ground breaking artist’s lasting impact.

Harney is longtime Montserrat faculty and steward of Hofmann’s principals. He has inspired and changed the lives of countless students who have come through the school’s doors.

Lydia Gordon is an Associate Curator at Peabody Essex Museum and curated “Hans Hofmann: The Nature of Abstraction” exhibition, currently on view. Gordon is also Montserrat Faculty.

This talk is part of a multi-faceted affair celebrating the work of Ollie Balf and Montserrat emerging-artists’ work.
