ThePuppet Fabrication Intern will gain valuable “hands on” production experience and training by working in collaboration with our skilled professionals. Interns are supported and challenged as they benefit from renowned stop-motion animation expertise. Specifically, the Puppet Fabrication Intern will assist with tasks across the spectrum of the puppet fabrication production departments including, but not limited to, Armature, Costume, Molding & Casting, and Hair & Fur. 

Job Functions 

  • Assist Character Project Manager and fabrication teams in a variety of tasks across the spectrum of puppet fabrication. 
  • Perform repetitive finely detailed tasks with precision for extended periods of time as part of the fabrication process.
  • Collaborate with fabrication teams and the Character Project Manager to ensure high quality execution of tasks.
  • Aid in workspace maintenance and organization.
  • Meet deadlines as established by department leadership and production management. 

Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in college or graduated within the last 12 months, with a focus in Fine Arts or other relevant area of study.
  • Basic artistic proficiency in drawing, painting, sculpting, and general crafting.
  • Basic experience with a variety of fabrication tools and techniques.
  • Basic understanding of stop motion process.
  • Experience with a wide variety of fabrication tools and techniques such as machine tools, soldering, hand tools, sewing machines, and molding/casting with silicone, preferred.
  • Basic understanding of anatomy.
  • Detail oriented with excellent communication skills and work ethic.
  • Able to work both collaboratively and independently.
