Production Assistant Internship – MIT Video Productions

Interns can serve as a Production Assistant on live action shoots on campus (interior and exterior) or studio shoots in MVP’s studio.  Camera crews vary from 1 operator to a larger event crew of 6-10 professionals whereby the intern learns how production responsibilities will vary based on each production and role.  Interns have the ability to learn video, audio and lighting equipment set up, operation, and breakdown.

Special Projects

Intern can assist Directors, Producers, and Editors on any form of pre-production, production, and post-production of special projects.  Special projects are storytelling-based videos produced for a variety of clients.

Sales and Marketing

In an effort to promote ourselves to our colleagues, interns can be asked to participate in research through creation of media to share our company messaging.  This may include pre-production, production, and post-production of a promotional video.

Post Production

Observance and/or training in Assistant Editor skills that inform knowledge of industry standard in video, audio, still images, media storage and workflows.  Interns may gain exposure and/or provide assistance with logging assets into database, capturing/digitizing video, video and audio editorial, creating basic graphics/titles, and output of final digital video files in a variety of files and formats, including digital video compression and transcoding for electronic file delivery.

Roles and responsibilities shift based on student’s interest, experience, and workflows available.
