Illustration & Graphic Design Internship – Summer 2025

Join the creative team at Bare Tree Media in Boston Massachusetts. Design digital assets as animated GIFs, mobile messaging stickers, mobile phone themes, smartwatch themes and promo videos. Candidates must live in Massachusetts and be enrolled or recently graduated from a Massachusetts college. Candidates will work 20 hrs per week from May through August 2024. This is a hybrid position mostly working remote, with opportunities to meet in person with the creative team 1-2X per month.

Responsibilities:

• Design and format marketing assets, promotional materials, and decorative content for mobile devices.
• Develop high-quality 2D animations for a range of projects including but not limited to messaging stickers, educational content, social posts, and promotional materials.
• Illustrate expressive and lifelike character animations, ensuring consistency in movement, gestures, and emotions that resonate with the audience.
• Work within estimated timelines/hours, set internally and by clients, to hit milestone deliverables throughout project timelines.
• Use Bare Tree Media’s internal pipeline tools to stay organized: Asana for task management, DropBox for file management, EverHour for time-tracking, Discord for team discussions and messaging.

Qualifications:

• Portfolio showcasing your 2D animation skills and illustration skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects and Illustrator.
• Solid understanding of graphic design and animation principles, including timing, spacing, weight, and easing.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team environment.
