Join us for a hands on creative opportunity in our museum dedicated to photography. Work with artists, images and our day to day operations.

The Griffin Museum of Photography seeks an onsite and hybrid interns.

This position can be seasonal, or structure your own timeframe to meet your needs for credit or education. 

Areas of Interest –

  • Curation / Exhibitions – hands on experience with arts administration, including label-writing, interpretive strategy, record keeping, web and database support of our exhibition and events calendar, and support of overall operations. Works alongside our Executive Director and Curatorial Associate.
  • Programming– Assisting and implementing programs that serve our membership, creating marketing plans for programming, social media implementation. Works alongside our Programs Director.
  • Membership / Development – Assisting our Executive Director and Operations Manager to develop relationships with our membership base, and also work on the development team creating opportunities for engaging our members in events, programs and exhibitions.
  • Communications– Working alongside the Social Media Content Producer to execute all press related coordination, including writing press releases, reaching out to journalists, and updating community calendars with museum happenings as well as work with our social media team to highlight the museums programs and events.
  • Design – Work alongside the Curatorial Assistant to create print materials for exhibitions including but not limited to wall vinyls, exhibition catalogues, and newsletters. Must have InDesign experience.
  • Project-Based Internship– These internships are specifically focused on exhibition, artist outreach, social media, working with our Arthur Griffin Archive, and other initiatives as established by agreement between the intern and Griffin staff.

We would like at least a ten hour per week commitment for internships. These opportunities are unpaid, but are available for credit. Housing is not provided.

INTERNSHIP DATES: 

Fall Semester Internships run September-December.

Winter Internships –  January – March

Spring – March – May

Summer – May – August

All internships are available outside of this timeline.
