Overview
The exhibition, “Healing of Art” is scheduled for June 10th-July 12th at the Cove Gallery located
on Rocky Neck in Gloucester MA. We are seeking an intern to help with gallery sitting, and
some combination of installation, with video and social media, and de-installing as determined.
The candidate should have some previous experience with gallery work, working with the
general public, and have strong communication skills. Intern will work directly with the curator
and may work with the other artists as part of the team.
The gallery intern is required to work 21+/- hours/week, and will determine a work schedule with
the curator. Candidates must have transportation and be dependable. This is a highly visible
and frequented gallery with set operating hours.

Responsibilities are determined from the following list :
● Gallery Sitting (Thurs – Sat 12 noon – 7pm, Sun & Mon 12 noon-5pm) dates TBD
● Work with curator on Social Media and interactive QR codes.
● Engage with artists and prospective audiences in a public gallery setting.
● Assist in installation of show
● Assist in Opening Reception
● Processing sales for artists
● Learn about each artist and their practice to engage with the audience and answer any
of their questions.
● Perform a few of the gallery maintenance responsibilities.

Qualifications:
● Clear Communicator, with high attention to detail
● Currently enrolled in a higher education institution
● Proper dress for retail environment

Compensation:
The gallery intern is an unpaid position and will receive academic credit for the internship.
