We are proud to offer a limited number of opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students interested in the museum field. Areas of interest include art education, art collection management, archives management, fund raising events, and  Museum Shop support. Photography and videography for social media and marketing support also welcome. Interns will gain hands-on, working knowledge of the logistics and general operations of a Non-Profit art organization. You will be fully integrated into the work environment, attend inter-department meetings, learn the structure and experience the strategic operational decisions involved in running an Art Institution.

These positions are open to undergraduate and graduate students, and recent graduates who majored or are majoring in art, art history, arts administration, museum studies, arts education, hospitality and similar fields. The CCMoA Summer Intern Program runs June – August (normally 10 weeks) during weekday office hours, with a weekly commitment of 20 hours minimum, including limited weekends and evenings and participation in our August Annual Gala and Art Auction. Weekly schedules are flexible and can differ from intern to intern depending on their scheduling needs. CCMoA will work to coordinate a mutually agreeable schedule.

This is an unpaid position. Interns will receive a one-year CCMoA membership, letters of recommendation, and free admission to a Museum School class or event of their choosing. We are happy to help satisfy documentation requirements for college credit if applicable, (must be reviewed in advance). We are unable to sponsor international students in the United States on a student visa.

Qualifications include flexibility to help staff with various operational tasks outside the specific scope of their internship position, museum programming, and event support. Opportunities may vary in areas of special events, visitor services, and marketing.  Physical work may be required. Strong computer skills necessary – PC platforms, photography skills, and audio/visual capability beneficial to support events and classes.  Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. CORI certification is required for Youth Education.
