Discover Bauhaus workshops, Wed. April 24, Thurs. April 25

Montserrat College of Art is pleased to welcome the “Discover Design – Discover Bauhaus” Workshops organized by The German Design Museum Foundation to campus on April 24 & 25 as part of Wunderbar Together – the Year of German-American Friendship. A professional German designer will introduce the fundamentals of Bauhaus design, including a short presentation on the history of its founding in Germany 100 year ago, the subsequent influence of the Bauhaus on modern art and design in the United States, and the ways in which the movement continues to be felt today. Participants will produce their own Bauhaus designs as part of the workshop.

Wed. April 24 –

1:55– 3:30pm Workshop #1 (in-house) sponsored by Kate Farrington in B208, 248 Cabot St

3:30–4:30pm – Open session with German designer for students/faculty. Location: B208, 248 Cabot St

4:30–6:00pm – Break

6:30–8:30pm – Workshop #2 (public for all ages). Location: Underground, 248 Cabot St

Thurs. April 25 –

3:30pm–5:30pm – Workshop #3 for ages 10 to 17 (public) in Underground (with assistance by student instructors). Location: B208, 248 Cabot St

5:30–6:30pm – Break

6:30–8:30pm Workshop #4 (in-house) open to all students/faculty/staff, Underground, 248 Cabot St
