Following the guidance provided by the American College Health Association (ACHA) and the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts (AICUM), Montserrat College of Art is requiring the Covid-19 vaccinations for all students studying on-campus for the 2021-2022 academic year. For a medical exemption from the COVID vaccine, the Health Office requires documentation from a healthcare provider, in addition to completion of a medical exemption form. For a religious exemption to be considered, completion of an exemption form is required. Exemption forms can be found here and should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org when completed.
It is important to recognize that we all play an important role in ensuring that we don’t spread the COVID virus. Widespread vaccination continues to be a critical tool to help stop the pandemic. In addition to the vaccine requirement, we expect that there will be some testing on campus in the fall, as well as additional COVID precautions. There will be more details about how the campus is moving forward in late July.
If you haven’t gotten a vaccine yet, here are some tools to assist you in locating a vaccination site.
Visit VaccineFinder.org to find vaccination providers near you. Check your local pharmacy’s website to see if they are offering the vaccination. Most retailers are offering walk-in services, but please check with your pharmacy or state health department. The Commonwealth also announced this week that Massachusetts residents who get vaccinated will be eligible for Vaxmillions, which will be giving away money and scholarships to fully vaccinated people. There is a fact sheet on the program here to learn more details.
Once you have received BOTH doses of your vaccine, please email a scanned copy of your COVID vaccination documentation to email@example.com.
You should plan to get your second dose of the vaccine no later than August 13, 2021 so that you are fully vaccinated by the beginning of the academic year. Resident students will not be permitted to move into campus housing until they are at least two-weeks post-vaccination. Those resident students who submit an exemption may be required to quarantine in a separate apartment, depending on the guidelines of the local public health office.
If you need assistance in securing a vaccine or just have questions, please reach out to COVIDfirstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you on campus in a few months!
