Colleen Michaels has been named a Trustee of the Beverly Public Library!

Congratulations to Colleen Michaels, the Director of the Writing Studio, who has been named a Trustee of the Beverly Public Library.

She has been an educator at Montserrat College of Art since 2011. She is a writer, poet and artist with a tremendous passion for the arts, the spoken and written word, and sharing her artistic enthusiasm with the Beverly community. She founded the Improbable Places Poetry Tour that brought poetry readings to unlikely places, such as laundromats, banks and a shipbuilding museum. Her poetry has been widely published and she regularly attends poetry readings as a featured poet.

She holds a BA and a MA in English from the State University of New York.

“Colleen has been a long-time library user and advocate, and we are so pleased to have her join the Library Board of Trustees,” said Anna Langstaff, of the Beverly Public Library. “Her artistic background will strengthen the board and help the library as it seeks to broaden its artistic and cultural offerings to the Beverly community.”
