On-Campus Employment Assistant

Department: Student Employment Office

Reports to: Emma Oliver, Student Employment Coordinator

Status: Hours needed each week: 5 Expected Duration of Job: Spring 2025, with possibility of rehiring for fall

Salary range: $15/hour

In the On Campus Employment Assistant position, you will assist the Student Employment Coordinator in communication, programming, the creation of promotional materials, and the set up of events.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Design promotional materials (flyers, posters, digital materials) for programs
  • Assist in event planning and set up, determine pre and post event work that needs to be completed and then execute it
  • Help design weekly Student Employment Reminders (flyers that are attached to emails) to ensure student engagement and that students log hours
  • Begin creation of a Student Employment monthly newsletter including employment stories from staff, faculty, and students
  • Help implement Student Employee of the Month

Requirements:

  • Interest in design or event engagement
  • Desire to help students better understand the resources available to them on campus
  • Excellence in communication and openness to trying new things

Learning Outcomes:

  • The student worker has the ability to independently and on a deadline
  • The student worker takes ownership of work duties, responsibilities, and ensures they are completed accurately and on time
  • Build confidence in the skills related to the work environment
  • Identify and articulate needs of students and hiring managers when assisting in the creation of new on campus jobs

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: light physical work with event setup
