Internship Ambassador – Fall 2024 (accepting applications now)
Department: Career Design Studio
Reports to: Alyssa Driscoll, Internship Advisor
Status: 1-2 hours/week, weighted toward the beginning of each semester; some wintersession and summer session hours may be requested - 1-2 days/ week
Salary range: $15/hour
Summary of Job: Did you complete your required internship? Did you love it?! Join Alyssa, the Internship Advisor, as you share your insights and experiences from your internship with students working on their application materials and placement searches. Assist with looking through application materials to share additional feedback with your peers. Help students who feel stuck in a certain part of the internship process by sharing your own journey.
Duties:
- Share internship experience/portfolio with INT200 section(s)
- Assist students with feedback on their application materials (resumes, cover letters, portfolios, practice interviews)
- Connect with students who may be having a hard time with the requirement
- Attend Career Design Studio events as an Internship Ambassador, sharing your experiences and engaging with other students, as well as assisting with event prep and clean up. (For example: Fresh Start Fair in August, Opportunity Fair in February, Mock Interviews, Employer Panels, Reflection Seminars, Info Sessions)
- Contribute to the welcoming and engaging atmosphere of the Career Design Studio
- May have side projects as assigned and discussed, including being interviewed for Internship Program videos, or helping to create promotional materials for the program
Skills + Experience:
- Completed INT200 and INT350, and finished your internship (required for this position; traditional internships — not mentor-guided internships — preferred)
- Positive attitude about the internship search process and your internship experience
- Familiarity with application materials/formatting; completed a strong resume, cover letter, and portfolio; confidently researched and applied for internships
- Enthusiasm to learn and engage with fellow students and employers
- Comfortable speaking in front of a class, both online and in person

Expected Duration of Job: Fall 2024, with the option to continue during subsequent semesters.
