Salem’s Shetland Park Gallery Exhibits Works by Montserrat Students

March 18, 2013

Montserrat College of Art’s Bear Gallery has collaborated with Salem’s Shetland Park Gallery to present an exhibition of paintings, drawing, prints and photographs.

Opening Reception: Friday, March 22, 3 – 5 pm
Atrium of Building One, 27 Congress St., Salem

The exhibit will remain on view Mondays through Fridays 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. – noon through May 2 as part of the Shetland Arts at Shetland Park series.

This group of Montserrat College of Art student work is centered on the theme of architecture. Bear Gallery staff members Eddie Negron and Ariel Durkee selected work from their peers based on this idea. The work chosen reflects different perspectives in various media. It also represents different views from abstraction to objective based works.

The Bear Gallery is the college’s student-run gallery in which students create the artwork, jury and stage the exhibitions. Besides holding traveling exhibitions, the gallery has two donated galleries in the Cummings Center in Beverly.
