Prof. Rob Roy Awarded First Prize

Professor and Chair of the Painting and Drawing Department Rob Roy was awarded first prize in the Monotype/Monoprint exhibition at the Fitchburg Art Museum. Juror Joann Moser, Senior Curator of Graphic Arts at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, recognized Roy’s “Witness #37” for its quality as a print that pushes the definition of monotype and for its social content. Monotype/Monoprint is on view through January 2, 2011. Roy’s work is also in thINK at the Belmont Art Gallery in Belmont from Oct. 15 – Nov. 19. Organized by the Boston Printmakers, thINK will travel to additional venues through 2012.
