President Immerman Speaks to Beverly City Council

October 2, 2012

President Steve Immerman went before the Beverly City Council last night (10/2) to deliver an Annual Report on all the happenings at Montserrat College of Art. He discussed the recent National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) 2012 Our Town Grant, Montserrat’s impact on downtown Beverly and its plant to create an Arts & Culture District, the college’s new tagline Where Creativity Works and the upcoming Guerrilla Girls Symposium.

The City Council responded by commending Montserrat’s students on their entrepreneurial essence and involvement in Beverly Main Street’s Community Meeting this past August where students brought forward a lot of great ideas. They also noted how much the college differentiates the overall culture of the city and that they look forward to having Montserrat students return for the fall semester to create a ‘beehive of activity.’
