Ode to a Bicycle…

December 10, 2010

Beverly’s Centraal Cycle was packed with poetry enthusiasts Thurs., Oct. 28, as Montserrat’s first stop on the Improbable Places Poetry Tour. The series of poetry readings was launched this fall by Montserrat Writing Center Director Colleen Michaels. At the Centraal Cycle event, poets read from their bicycle-themed works, singing the praises of the common conveyance. It may look like nothing more than a contraption with wheels, chains, saddlebags and handle bars, but in the musings of poets, a bicycle transports its rider to worlds of new possibility, relationship and adventure.
