Neil Wilkins (’97) Receives Educator of the Year Award

Alumnus Neil Wilkins ‘97 was recently honored by the Haverhill YMCA with the Educator of the Year Award.

Neil teaches art and science in Bradford, MA at the recently renamed Greenleaf Academy. John DePolo, the principal of Greenleaf Academy, praised the generosity that Neil showed his students. That generosity is how he engages and motivates students with a variety of learning challenges.

That event that honored Neil and others was held on the Haverhill campus of Northern Essex Community College at the Hartleb Technology Center.

Neil’s artistic work uses circles to express growth and connection to one’s surroundings. It evokes the feeling of looking through a microscope and seeing the many invisible things that bind ourselves and our world together.
