Montserrat Appoints New Leadership to the Board of Trustees
Montserrat College of Art has elected new leadership to its Board of Trustees, naming consultant Henrietta Gates of Hamilton, MA, (top photo) the new Chair of the Board.
Serving as Vice Chair is Atty. Miranda P. Gooding, of Beverly, MA, partner at Glovsky & Glovsky, LLC. Joyce M. Moore of Beverly, MA, chief financial officer at Windover, LLC, continues as Treasurer. Alex Lamb of Manchester, MA, managing director at Commonwealth Impact Partners, will serve as Secretary. John Colucci of Wenham, Managing Partner at McLane Middleton, remains on the Executive Committee as Immediate Past Chair.
Heidi Z. Adam of Wenham, MA, (middle photo) founder of Z/Adam, has been elected onto the Board and appointed into the newly added Executive Committee role of Chair of the Council of Overseers. Adam brings creativity, strong marketing skills, non-profit expertise, and a deep understanding of fundraising. Previously she was the president at ProjectCause, Inc. in Hamilton, MA, managing director at The Zenger Group, Inc. in Boston, MA and the vice president at Marketplace Advertising in Boston, MA. She is also an accomplished equestrian.
In her role as Chair of the Council of Overseers, Adam is gathering a new group that will further unique opportunities for art and education lovers to enjoy, become more informed about, and involved with the college and its students.
The board has also added Montserrat College of art alumna, artist and principal of Art by Alyssa, Alyssa Watters ‘07 of Beverly, MA (bottom photo) to the board. Watters is an expert painter and entrepreneur who lives and works in Beverly, MA. Since graduating Montserrat in 2007, she has built her own company, Art by Alyssa, using reproductions of her original works to create a unique gift product line that is available for wholesale and retail across the country. Watter’s studio is located at 110 Cabot Street in downtown Beverly. Used as production and showroom space, she also uses her studio to host pop-up events throughout the year. Watters said, “As a small business owner, artist in our community and graduate of Montserrat, I’ve gained valuable insight into the creative culture. I’ve continued to stay actively involved with the institution since graduating in 2007. I’m honored and proud to contribute to the board and be a voice of the Alumni.”

They bring a variety of experience in law, business, art and civic engagement. The board of trustees is a vital element of the college community, providing volunteer services, financial support and leadership for our institution.”
