Mark Hoffmann Selected as Full-Time Faculty

April 12, 2011

Mark Hoffmann has been selected as the new,  full-time faculty member in Illustration and Animation.

Mark earned a BFA in Illustration at Rhode Island School of Design and a MA in Visual Design at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and worked for seven years as a professional illustrator and animator. He has taught for over ten years at New Hampshire Institute of Art and here at Montserrat, where, in January 2011, he achieved the rank of Assistant Professor. In the eyes of the Search Committee, Mark’s unique combination of skills in both the illustration and animation fields, his energy and ideas for how to grow this “start-up” concentration, his strong personal work, and his passion for teaching undergraduate artists made him the best candidate for this position.

Congratulations, Mark!  Thanks also to all of you who participated and a special thanks to the search committee members (Fred, Masako, Ron, Blyth, Elissa and Jenn) for their sustained energy during this year-long process.
