Hans Haacke Gallery Talk by Martha Buskirk
Art History Prof. Martha Buskirk will give a gallery talk on “Hans Haacke 1967” at MIT’s List Visual Arts Center on Thursday, December 1, 6-7 pm. She will be discussing Haacke’s early kinetic and system-based work (including such well-known pieces as his Condensation Cube and Grass Grows) in the context of an exhibition that revisits his 1967 solo show at MIT. In other professional news, Martha’s article on Tania Bruguera at Occupy Boston appeared recently in Artnet; her essay “Certifiable” was published in the catalogue for the touring exhibition “In Deed: Certificates of Authenticity in Art” (currently on view at the KHOJ International Artists’ Association in Delhi); and her new book, Creative Enterprise: Contemporary Art between Museum and Marketplace is forthcoming from Continuum in spring 2012.
