October 8, 2015

IMG_2142Montserrat College of Art’s Asst. Prof. Marilu Swett will have two of her pieces in the Peabody Essex Museum’s Sizing It Up: Scale in Nature and Art that opens on Saturday, Oct. 10, 10 am – 4 pm. Swett will include her Heartbeats Project in the atrium, which displays “beats” that she has recently done with 7th and 8th graders from Salem and Tokyo through the PEM’s OTA exchange program. With the help of Montserrat students, she will engage the public in drawing “beats” where participants will add little drawings to the heart-inspired structure. The show will be up for a year.  For information, visit pem.org.

DROP-IN ART MAKING: Mega Heart Meets Mini Heartbeats, 10 am – 4 pm | Atrium, 161 Essex St Salem, MA. Explore Marilu Swett’s giant abstract heart and add your own heartbeat drawing to the inside of the sculpture. Learn more about the Heartbeats Project at heartbeatsproject.com and The Heartbeats Project on Facebook.
