September 19, 2011

Writing Center Director Colleen Michaels‘ panel “My Poetry Crush” will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 3 pm, at The Phillips House, 34 Chestnut Street, Salem, MA. In this panel, four writers will share (more like “gush”) and briefly discuss the poems of their cherished “crush.” Panelists will also share their own works which have been influenced or inspired by their chosen writer.
Creative Writing Faculty Erin Dionne will be sitting on two panels on Sunday Sept. 25 at The Vault at The Gathering, 217 Essex Street, Salem. The first is for her participation in the anthology, Dear Bully, at 2 pm and second is the “Young Adult Authors” panel at 3:30 pm, to discuss Young Adult Literature.
Liberal Arts Faculty Dawn Paul’s panel “Stealing the Family Jewel” will also be held Sunday, Sept. 25, 3 pm at the Phillips House, 34 Chestnut Street, Salem. In this panel, three authors of books that center on family and personal experience; including Dawn Paul’s The Country of Loneliness; will discuss the issue of how to make family members, beloved and otherwise, into rich, multi-dimensional characters, without hurting their feelings.
All featured books will be available for purchase and signing.
