Artists Group of Charlestown Sponsors Group Show
The Artists’ Group of Charlestown has organized Surfaces, a group show juried by Maggie J. Cavallo, independent curator and assistant curator of Education at Montserrat College of Art Galleries and Visiting Artists Program.
On view: March 30 – April 1
Reception: Friday, March 30, 6 – 9 pm
StoveFactory Gallery, 523 Medford Street, Charlestown, MA
Surfaces includes work that renders interpretations of tactile adventures and subliminal boundaries. “I took great pleasure in seeing how the artists approached the theme,” explained Cavallo. “Some of my favorite pieces successfully took the idea both literally and allegorically, like Margaret Furlong’s No Flies on Me. I can’t wait to layout the show and see it come together!” Along with members of the Artist Group of Charlestown, the exhibit also includes Montserrat faculty member Adria Arch, alumnus Bradford Rusick ‘08 and Montserrat’s Frame 301 featured artist Joey Asal.
“The Artists Group of Charlestown is thrilled to work with Maggie Cavallo on the Surfaces show,” stated Dara Pannebaker, President & Founder of Artists Group of Charlestown. “We’re very excited at the breadth of talent represented in the show, and the many imaginative interpretations of the theme. Our collaboration with Maggie continues our mission to the community by presenting accomplished works of local and regional artists in a highly dynamic show.”
