Alumni News: Tom Maio ’13 Performs in the Group Show Makeover!

Makeover!, presented by Sübsamsøñ and the BLAA, is a group show of 18 Boston-affiliated/based artists whose work considers reshaping, modifying and updating the self. The pieces range from portraiture and performance to sculpture and abstraction.

Working primarily in performance with a site specific approach, Tom Maio investigates themes of intimacy, loss, desire, failure and identity. Maio lives and works in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. They have shown work at Defibrillator Gallery, Chicago, Illinois, The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, Mobius, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Regart Centre D’Artistes En Art Actuel in Lévis, Quebec, Canada. cargocollective.com/tommaio/
