Alumna Margie Florini Hosts Pajama Day for New Book at Beverly Library
Alumna Margie Florini ’94 has illustrated a children’s storybook called “The Pajamas Of My Dreams“, written by Laurie Collins and designed completely in cut-paper collage. She will be sharing her book with children and parents in Beverly during a Pajama Drive Day on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 10 am hosted at the Beverly Public Library, 32 Essex St, Beverly, MA. Participants are invited to wear PJ’s, slippers and to bring a new pair of warm pajamas to be donated to Cradle To Crayons (C2C) for families in need throughout Massachusetts. There will also be a reading by the book’s author, Laurie Collins and a collage activity with Florini, “Create Your Own Dream Page,” with pre-cut patterned papers and templates.
The events are meant to make a difference to families across the state — those having fun doing collage and reading a lovely storybook, as well as those who benefit from the warm pajamas that are collected and sent to C2C and their “Giving Factory” just outside of Boston.
There has already been a tremendous response to the book, including winning a Bronze Medal for “Best First Book – Picture Book for 2013” from Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards.
