July 17, 2013

Recent alumna Lisa Hersey ’12 was one of our first Book Arts‘ students to graduate from Montserrat College of Art!

She had got an internship with Amy Borezo, a book artist who owns Shelter Bookworks in Orange, MA…and it became a job!

Congratulations, Lisa!

Shelter Bookworks is a full service bindery and print studio located in Western Massachusetts and operated by Amy Borezo. Amy received an MFA in Painting/Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2000 where she studied Letterpress and the Art of the Book with Walter Feldman of the Ziggurat Press. After graduating, she worked as a specialist at a library bindery and for Master Bookbinder Daniel Kelm, focusing on the editioning of artist’s books and boxes with an extremely high level of craftsmanship. Shelter Bookworks opened its doors in the Orange Innovation Center in 2007. Amy also teaches Book Art, most recently at Dartmouth College.
