Alumna Emily Chesley Update

January 24, 2013

Emily Chesley ’04 attended Montserrat to expand and grow her fine art background. During her process and development she decided to switch her concentration to Graphic Design. Chesley gained a lot of inspirations from her professors. She also took advantage of the opportunity to study landscape photography and journal writing during Montserrat’s Study Abroad Program in Viterbo, Italy in 2003.

After graduation, Chesley spent approximately eight years as a graphic/web designer for both publishing and printing companies. She has recently moved back to the Beverly area, where she was born and raised, and currently displays her art at her hair studio, Y lime studi O, in Beverly. As an Aveda trained hair stylist she expresses her eye for color and shape behind the chair. Artists that continue to influence her are Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and Ansel Adams.
