Alumna Alison Landoni (’93) Opening New Show at Rockport Art Association & Museum

Published: August 4, 2021

Alumna Alison Landoni’s new show, “Submergence” opens at the Rockport Art Association & Museum this month! Per Landoni, “the gallery space and images will reflect the symbolic act of submerging both underwater and into the creative process. The show was initially inspired by nautical folklore and ‘monsters’ of the sea that distract and pull us in and how our modern technology mimics this. Some artwork sympathizes with these beasts, including sirens, Kraken, and a seven-panel piece representing the wrath of Leviathan.”

Lifelong Cape Anner, Landoni is a graduate of Montserrat College of Art (’93), holds a Masters in Expressive Arts Therapy from Lesley University, and is a practicing mental health clinician (LMHC pending). She is a current Exhibiting Member of the Rockport Art Association & Museum, the Newburyport Art Association, and a past juried member of the National Association of Women Artists.

Submergence will be on exhibit August 7th – 26th, at the Rockport Art Association & Museum, 12 Main Street, Rockport, MA, 01966.

In lieu of an opening reception, “Meet the Artist” hours will be held on August 7th, 1-4 pm.

Visiting hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm, and Sundays, 12 pm -5 pm. For more information, please call the RAA&M at 978-546-6604 or visit rockportartassn.org.
